Family-run Albert Street Bakery in Inglewood, baking since 2012

Led by owner, Tony Stevenson, the team at the family-run Albert Street Bakery in Inglewood has more than 45 years of combined baking and shop experience.

Tony himself has been working in the industry for over 30 years including having worked for Coles and Woolworths.

Although the bakery had been on the premises for many years, Tony took over the once struggling business (formally Inglewood Bakehouse) in April 2012 and, within a few short months, transformed it into a thriving business.

The secret? Tony says there is no secret to making quality, wholesome products made with goodness and a touch of love, and anyway,

“Customers deserve the best!”

Locals and travellers alike seem to agree and have been flocking to the once-tired and almost empty-shelved bakery ever since he took over.Today, it’s a different story and shelves are filled each day with freshly baked and prepared products.

What do we make? Lots of delicious things made with only the best ingredients and, according to the comments from customers, tasting just like the food they bought at that old corner bakery when they were kids.

At Albert Street Bakery we pride ourselves on making full-flavoured, nutritious, tempting food and, no matter what the time of day, we’ll have something guaranteed to satisfy your taste buds.


Our bread is made each day right on the premises. We source only the best products (including using up to 10 different seeds) and, whenever possible, use local suppliers and their fresh produce.


Whether you would like something sweet for your morning or afternoon tea, the ‘smoko’ or to offer to a friend, browse through our tempting selection.

You’ll find our cream buns taste just like you remember from your childhood, the vanilla slice as thick and rich and that iced cake literally dripping with flavour.


Our meat pies and sausage rolls are full of local beef and meat products and made right out the back. Forget those mass produced, frozen products from the supermarket and get your teeth into our delicious pies and rolls.

The Albert Street Bakery is located on the main street of Inglewood, a pretty little town on Queensland’s Darling Downs, three and a half hours southwest of Brisbane.

The Bakery is an ideal place to plan a stop on your way between Warwick and Goondiwindi or between Toowoomba and Goondiwindi or Inverell/Texas and Toowoomba.

Have a look at our bread range and, if you like, you can also place an order and we’ll have it ready for you (minimum ordering time is by 4:00pm the day before) and you stop into the shop to collect.
